Description
The Epic Access and Scheduling Analyst is responsible for the configuration, optimization, and support of the Epic Access and Scheduling modules. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the efficient operation of patient access and scheduling processes within our healthcare organization. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance workflows, improve patient access, and ensure that the system meets clinical and operational needs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- System Configuration: Configure and maintain the Epic Access and Scheduling modules to support patient access and scheduling workflows. Ensure the system is optimized to meet the needs of the organization.
- Support & Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level support for Epic Access and Scheduling users, addressing and resolving system issues promptly. Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems, ensuring minimal disruption to patient access and scheduling operations.
- Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders to understand and optimize patient access and scheduling workflows. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices.
- Training & Documentation: Develop and deliver training programs for end-users to ensure effective use of the Epic Access and Scheduling modules. Create comprehensive documentation, including user guides, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize data from the Epic system to generate reports and provide insights into patient access and scheduling operations. Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- System Maintenance & Upgrades: Monitor system performance and conduct regular maintenance to ensure optimal functionality. Manage system upgrades and enhancements, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless integration with other systems.
- Project Management: Lead and participate in projects related to Epic Access and Scheduling, including new implementations, system upgrades, and process improvements. Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
- Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure that all activities related to Epic Access and Scheduling comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Stay current with changes in regulations and Epic system updates.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with various departments, including patient access, clinical, and administrative teams, to understand their needs and provide solutions that support organizational goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Epic certification in Access and/or Cadence modules is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Epic Ambulatory applications, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of patient access and scheduling workflows in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MBA, MHA) or additional certifications in healthcare IT or management.
- Experience with large-scale Epic implementations and optimizations.
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with typical business hours; occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
- Hybrid work environment with a combination of on-site and remote work as needed.
