Description
The Epic Ambulatory Applications Manager is responsible for the management, implementation, optimization, and support of the Epic Ambulatory applications across our healthcare organization. This role involves overseeing the Ambulatory Applications team, ensuring that system functionality supports clinical, business, and informational needs. The manager will engage with key stakeholders to align IT resources with organizational goals and objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Directly manage the Ambulatory Applications team, including recruitment, development, and performance management. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure the team delivers high-quality services.
- System Implementation & Optimization: Oversee the implementation and optimization of Epic Ambulatory applications. Ensure systems are configured and maintained to meet the clinical and operational needs of the organization.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with clinical and operational stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure IT resources are aligned to support organizational goals. Facilitate communication between technical and clinical teams.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to optimize the use of Epic Ambulatory applications. Collaborate with other IT and operational teams to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
- Project Management: Lead and participate in projects related to Epic Ambulatory applications, including new implementations, system upgrades, and process improvements. Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
- Training & Support: Develop and oversee training programs for end-users to ensure effective use of Epic Ambulatory applications. Provide ongoing support to users, addressing any questions or issues that arise.
- System Maintenance & Upgrades: Monitor system performance and conduct regular maintenance to ensure optimal functionality. Manage system upgrades and enhancements, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless integration with other systems.
- Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure that all activities related to Epic Ambulatory applications comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Stay current with changes in regulations and Epic system updates.
- Reporting & Analytics: Utilize data from Epic Ambulatory applications to generate reports and provide insights into clinical and operational performance. Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Epic Ambulatory certification is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Epic Ambulatory applications, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MBA, MHA) or additional certifications in healthcare IT or management.
- Experience with large-scale Epic implementations and optimizations.
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with typical business hours; occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
- Hybrid work environment with a combination of on-site and remote work as needed.
